Description

The EMS instructor is responsible for instructing and managing all educational activities of the Paramedic classes.

Job Duties

Managing all educational activities of the course.
Arrives to class on time and assures that students are present at the start of class.
Assures adherence to applicable accreditation commission requirements, to include daily lesson plans, test validity, reliability, and difficulty of question (KR20) program policy and procedure, and programâ??s curricula.
Monitors student progress, to include grades, attendance, and behaviors, conducts student progress reports, conducts student orientation, and advises students throughout the program.
Teaches both didactic and laboratory classes within the Program Curriculum.
Assure that all equipment is in working order prior to and following class. This is defined as fixing, ordering parts, or notifying the program director of the need to repair.
Responds to all student questions in a timely manner.
Coordinate with adjunct instructors as needed.
Coordinate with EMS Clinical Coordinator for didactic education.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

State of Iowa Paramedic certificate
Associate degree or higher

Physical Demands

Heavy work (lift 30-50 lbs.)

Other physical requirements (note):

The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
